|An Old Ale, Brewed by Brasserie de Bellevaux, Malmedy, Belgium. The Black is a beer out of the ordinary. The origin of this beer is a souvenir. A 'memory of taste' which recalls a trip to the regions of Yorkshire in the seventies of last century and we especially remember the beers such as Old Peculiar Brewery Theakston.
With water fromthe source of the Belgian Ardennes, the malt, English hops, an alcohol content slightly higher, a little more CO2 and mixing in the English way: a fine example of successful mixed marriage. 6.3% ABV.
|Review||Pours a very dark black red color with a nice beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate with spices. Flavors of roasted to slightly burnt malts, a bit smokey, black coffee and spices. Good carbonation, good light bitter, a bit creamy, nice long flavors. Reminds me of some stouts. Very nice.|
